Come sing with me!
Hello, I’m Sasha. If you have dreams of singing, I can hardly wait to accompany you on this incredible journey.
Singing is transformational, a powerful form of self-expression. You’ll find yourself growing in confidence as you learn to present yourself in a completely different way. Through singing, you’ll develop untapped skills, play different roles, and learn new languages and histories. Discovering the inspiration behind the music and the era in which it emerged makes the experience all the richer.
We’re going to make gorgeous music and memories together.
Let’s release the power and potential of your voice.
What can you expect in voice lessons with me?
- Focus on fun, creativity and enjoyment, as you develop your passion and skill.
- Start or strengthen your musical technique in one-on-one lessons.
- Become a life-long learner of music and singing, as we take a playful yet professional approach.
- Feel comfortable in an open, collaborative environment designed for students of all abilities and goals.

"The only thing better than singing is more singing"
– ELLA FITZGERALD
Meet your singing teacher
Encouraging a love of music in others expands my own joy in this incredible art form. Each student learns differently and in adapting to their needs, I learn alongside them. Teaching has made me a chameleon!
With Bachelor’s degrees in Music and Education, I have the technical and pedagogical background to support healthy development on every level.
- Bachelor of Music | University of Lethbridge, 2018
- Bachelor of Education | Ambrose University, 2020
- Performer, developmental specialist and teacher
Having been born and raised in the Foothills, I’ve always appreciated the close sense of community that comes from living in a small town. I couldn’t be more pleased to blend my love of music and education in serving this population.

Pricing
New students will be offered a package of 30 lessons over the course of the year, from mid-September until the third week in June. Each lesson will be 30 minutes in length, with a monthly fee of $90. A materials fee of $40 for books and materials also applies.
2022-2023 Policies
- Lessons will be scheduled with 10 minute breaks in between them. Sasha will use this time to sanitize inside and outside door handles, light switches, the piano bench, keys and music stand.
- To eliminate the amount of people in the entryway at any given time, please be prompt in picking up and dropping off of your student.
- To protect the privacy and learning of each student, those who arrive early will be asked to wait outside. If you must arrive early, please wait in your car until one minute before your lesson time.
- Siblings who are not taking lessons will not be permitted in the lesson area. One parent may sit in on the lesson if they choose. Seating will be sanitized between lessons.
- Two siblings who are both taking lessons may attend each other’s lesson. The student who is not actively learning must sit in the designated area. Please bring a book or quiet activity, as no shared toys or colouring items will be provided.
- Students will be required to use hand sanitizer or wash their hands with soap and water for 20 seconds prior to their lesson. Sasha will do the same.
- Although masks are not required at this time, this may be subject to change with Alberta government regulations. If you’d like to use masks, Sasha will accommodate this preference.
- Let’s protect each other’s health. If anyone in your home is exhibiting any symptoms of sickness (fever, cough, runny nose, upset stomach), your student is not permitted to attend lessons in person. An online lesson will be offered.
- If Sasha is exhibiting any symptoms of illness she will move lessons online.
- Zoom lessons will remain an option any time a student cannot come to a lesson in person, whether this is due to illness, travel in the family or another reason.
- Students may request that their lessons be moved to Zoom for any reason with a minimum of one hour’s notice. Each family will have a Zoom link that will remain the same for the entire year.
Cancellation and Make-Up Policy:
- The music lesson year is based on 30 lessons. Sasha aims to complete the year’s learning by mid-June, but it is possible that our schedule will extend by a week or two to complete all of the lessons. The teaching schedule will take into account breaks for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day, Family Day, Easter and Music Festival weeks.
- Sasha will not be offering make-up lessons throughout the year for student absences. Instead, students will be offered either a Zoom lesson during their regular lesson time or a pre-recorded video lesson. Students can record their pieces and send them by email, text or YouTube link prior to their lesson time, and Sasha will record and send a video response during their regular lesson time.
- If Sasha cancels for illness, voice education conferences or other reasons, make-up lessons will be offered on a Monday, a Saturday or at the end of the school year (in late May or early June). If 30 lessons have not been completed by mid-June due to Sasha’s cancellations, families will be reimbursed for missed lessons.
- If your lesson time no longer works for you, Sasha may or may not be able to reschedule within her teaching hours. If rescheduling is not possible, she reserves the right to require the following two months of tuition payments as she may not be able to find a student to fill that spot.
- 60 days written notice is required to withdraw a student from Sasha’s lessons for any reason. Sasha will keep the following two months tuition cheques or will require payment for the two months following the student’s last lesson.
- Sasha reserves the right to cancel the registration of a student at any time and for any reason.
- Complete registration is subject to material fee payment by the applicant.
Practice Expectations
This studio provides each student with quality music education which is fun, engaging, and tailored to their needs. Enthusiasm is an key part of our atmosphere, and every student should feel talented and valued. Our goal is not to create perfect performers, but rather to create engaged students who are fluent in the language of music, who love to sing, and who aim for excellence in their instrument. Every student should come away with a positive experience and the drive to continue their musical education. To succeed in this aim, Sasha will go over what a ‘practice’ session should entail with each student.
If your child is struggling with a particular concept, song or practice times in general, please let Sasha know so that we can work on a solution together. Sometimes it is just a matter of adjusting the material or expectations so that a child can feel successful.
Payment Policy
- A material fee of $40 per student is required by your child’s first lesson to hold your child’s spot for the fall. This covers the cost of administrative fees, supplemental music from Sasha’s lending library, printing homework pages and pieces, and various prizes and incentives throughout the year.
- Exams and music festival participation are optional. The student will cover all costs of these activities.
- Thirty-minute lessons are $90 per month.
Invoices are sent via email by the 1st of each month (payment will be due on the 1st of the following month, ex. September payment will be due on October 1st)
Payment Options:
Cheques: Please supply 10 post-dated cheques for the 2022/23 school year (September-June) made out to Sasha Penchuk. Cheques should be submitted prior to or during the first lesson in September 2022, with each cheque dated for the first day of each month. A $30.00 charge will be levied on each cheque returned NSF from the customer’s bank account. Sasha will cash each cheque by the 5th of each month.
